Senior Leadership Weekly Round Up – 6th January 2017
- Firstly, I would like to wish all our students, parents and carers a Happy New Year. I do hope that you have all had a lovely Christmas.
- During our staff training on Wednesday this week, we discussed outstanding teaching and learning, leadership and building the highest performing teams. We were delighted to welcome representatives from English departments in a wide range of schools, not just within The Cam Academy Trust, but from all across the Eastern region, to training from AQA, which was superbly organised by our English department.
- Following the departure of Mr Palmer at the end of last term, we are delighted to welcome Dr Wilson to our science team. Joining us from Swavesey Village College, Dr Wilson has vast experience of working in the Cambridgeshire village college system.
- This week, Year 7 historians have been designing medieval castles at home and studying a variety of castle designs in school during their history classes. Castles were the backbone of William of Normandy’s strategy to control England and, during the reign of Edward I, more permanent stone castles were constructed. Students have researched different structures and have been really creative. Mr Tobutt said, “Superb work, Year 7.”
- Huge congratulations to Alice Frewin, who came away with one gold and two bronze medals at the Cambridgeshire Gymnastics Championships in December. In her section, Alice took the top prize for her floor routine and picked up third place in the beam and vault events.
Have a good weekend.
