SLT Update October 5th
5th October 2018
On Monday night the U16 hockey team travelled to Wilberforce Road to play in the south Cambs tournament. The girls had the opportunity to play on the new Astroturfs there, a brilliant facility that will be used for a lot of the hockey tournaments throughout the rest of the season. In their first match they conceded 2 goals against Impington, but they worked and played hard to secure victories over the other schools, Netherhall and Chesterton. Overall, they came 2nd in their group and only 1 point behind the winner of the group. Well done to all the girls who played. On Wednesday night the U16s were in action again against Impington, this time winning 2-1. Great play and a hard-fought match.
ï‚· The Year 8 hockey team also played against Impington, unfortunately losing 1-0, but a great effort by all in their first match of the hockey season.
ï‚· Next week, the Year 7 and 9 hockey teams have fixtures and Year 9s have their rugby tournament. Good luck to all.
ï‚· Reminder: the deposit (£150.00 via Parentpay) deadline for the Ski Trip is the 10th October. This is a great opportunity, which our students love.
ï‚· We are excited that our Science department are attending SPEED2018 on Saturday - Stimulating Physics in the East of England Day – and look forward to hearing about the opportunities this will create for our students.
ï‚· Reminder for Year 11 students: Most mock examinations are in the week beginning 19th November. However, please see your subject teacher for information on the Art exam and the timetable for the Modern Language oral exams.
ï‚· As part of the #WakeUp campaign, National On-line safety have created a free guide for parents & carers to raise awareness about 'online grooming'. https://twitter.com/natonlinesafety/status/1047458983248887808
Have a great weekend.
