SLT Update February 15th
15th February 2019
- Today, we said goodbye to our Chinese visitors, who have spent the last eight days here on our first joint Chinese exchange with Comberton Village College. They spent time with their English partners at school, including doing a joint project with presentations by the English students in Mandarin (I heard them - they were fantastic) and the Chinese students doing the same in English. It’s been a wonderful, culturally enriching experience, which we hope our students have really enjoyed. Do look at further photos on our website newsfeed or Facebook page.
- Some of the Year 11 GCSE PE boys went over to Meridian School on Monday to participate in a practice football match for their upcoming moderation. The game ended 3-3 and was very productive. All pupils doing GCSE PE are reminded to log all their participation in practical activities.
- There will be a revision session for Year 11 on Romeo and Juliet and A Christmas Carol on Monday 18th February, from 10am-12pm. Students taught by Miss Bailey and Mrs Hallam will need to go to EN4 and students taught by Miss King and Mrs Archer will need to go to EN5. Students do not need to wear school uniform.
- We currently have a vacancy for a Catering Assistant. See www.melbournvc for further details.
- Keeley Thomas in Year 8 is having her haircut for charity for the 3rd time on the 24th March at the Green Man, Shepreth. She’s really hoping to raise more than last time (£2,500) so please go and support her, sponsor her, buy raffle tickets, etc.
- The Year 9 boys football team have a busy week when we return after half-term. They will travel to Comberton in the District Cup on Monday 25th Feb, then to Bassigbourn VC for a friendly on Wednesday 27th Feb. Good luck to all our pupils competing for the school next half-term.
Have a restful half term break.
